IDS Automation has worked in many areas of the wood industry, from rough sawing & kiln drying to moulding, sanding, and assembly operations. Knowing the characteristic requirements of these processes, and the necessary control equipment & applications is key to working in this industry. We know that plant production air is one part of that process and can be a large source for wasted energy. Industrial Automation has created energy-saving solutions that monitor the intake vacuum at multiple dust collection points throughout the plant and monitor the building static air pressure. We then can control the individual or multiple dust collection units' drive speed and building make-up air systems for optimal efficiency. If production machines are turned off, vacuum requirements are reduced, and the associated dust collector vacuum motor drive speed is automatically reduced as needed to maintain the correct system vacuum. This results in significant energy savings, not only that which is reduced to power the drives but also the building environmental air heating & cooling loads. The dust collectors sawdust clean out, air locks, and removal conveyors are also automatically energized as needed.
